I’m working on my new site and would love some feedback on this logo. I have no (er, almost no) ego about these things so please be blunt.
Thank you!

I like it – it looks raw …. I would only change one thing, and that’s the kerning between the DES, it just looks a little off, but only a little.
I’m no design professional, nor to I play one on TV – just so you know my credentials *grin*
Look at that. It does look off. Huh.
:)
I like the logo but I’d love much more to see it in use
on your new site. Its hard to critique a graphic in its
standalone form. As far as logo graphics go though
I like it very much.
If you want it to stand out a bit, try making one of the
letters a red color. That will definitely draw a persons
eye to the logo itself (this may also hinder a website
if done improperly).
Might I inquire as to what you are using to generate
your graphics? I am a big fan of Gimp myself.
Longtime lurker reader here. I do not understand what it is supposed to communicate. Three-design-three? 3designs? Looks military/industrial? Spacing off? Very monochrome? Not moved or impressed by this, sorry :(
Ditto on “What’s it meant to communicate”.
Also, don’t like the repetition – the underline’s just looks dodgy and the artefacts on the two 3′s makes it look contrived.
I think it’s kinda cool and rugged-looking. To me it looks like the logo for a videogame (company?), FWIW. What do the 3′s mean, anyway?
What is significance of the 3′s? Does look rather industrial with the little rivets
Very industrial with a tiny nod towards steampunk.
I like the raised i. Not so sure on the bar below. Its little notches don’t work well with the lettering for me.
I agree with the kerning issue. Also, the final “3″ screws up my eye as well as my mind… Not certain what you’re trying to get across… Makes me feel silly that I can’t “get it” as soon as I see it. Or even after five minutes…
I was thinking 3D with a plural… ?? But the final 3 doesn’t work for that so…
Hmmm. I’m at a loss.
I do like the font. And the look. But the rest — it just doesn’t tell me what you’re trying to tell me.
XS
I like threes. I’ve always liked threes. That is all. :)
forgive me, i’m technologically illiterate. what exactly is the “3″ supposed to signify, if anything? i do think the look of the logo is neat, if a bit befuddling. but that’s just me.
cheers,
charm

To be honest, I am not crazy about it – it is fine – but I am not sure you want it to be your first foot forward for promotion. When I scroll up and look at the design of the wording “aagblog.com” I much prefer the look of that.
I think it has class! Good clear image that makes you wonder.
Not sure I like the 3′s. I love the font, I like the stark look. It’s very industrial…which, is funny because that is not what I think of when I think of you. :)
It’s great that you like the 3′s but I”m not sure they are doing anything for that logo….
that is all!
I have looked at this a bunch of times today, and I can’t tell whether it’s the logo itself or the way my eyes are positioned in my head but the design seems tilted just slightly to the left. Other than that it seems fine, though given the choice I like the more blockish one at the bottom of the blog in the meta links.
OK. So I’m probably going to sound like a total bitch. But here I go.
The fact that you like 3s doesn’t cut it for a logo. A logo needs to gather/encapsulate a clear message in one glance.
Logos often fail exactly because they tend to be whimsical. Also, many tend to be so obvious that they don’t inspire.
Spend more time on it. You can probably get your message across and still include the 3 business…
Sort of my line of work so… forgive the impetuous needling.
It is really a case of who it is for.
If it is for you its industrial nature emphasizes the mechanical nature of the website design skills.
While your technical skills are undoubtedly strong the comments from your customers lead on your softer customer facing skills.
I find companies that have a link between logo, mission statement, business plan, and unique selling point; often have greater integrity (for an example I am thinking early Ben and Jerry’s).
Who’s it for? What do they do? What is their target market?
Lord people, it’s a good thing I’ve got thick skin or else I’d be putting my goddamn head in the oven.
:)
This is for my finally-resurrected professional site. Thus far 100% of my bid’ness has come from word of mouth and past client referrals. I don’t expect this to change unless they perfect cloning or I learn to live without sleep. It’s my intention to put said logo on client’s sites as a visual reminder of how frakkin’ awesome my services are so that the referral process can continue.
Thank you for the feedback. I do appreciate it.
Hahaha- The first thing I saw when I looked at the ‘stacked’ logo in Meta, was DIC(k)-EGO-S(aNd)M.
Now really, what is wrong with me ?!
Otherwise the ‘Industrial’ look is good, but I don’t think it needs the underline.
-me.-
Oh my gawd you pervert!
(yeah, i totally saw that too)
:)

Thank you Sulpicia!
The “flaking paint” effect makes it looks grungy.
It communicates an edgy, underground, counter-cultural, anti-establishment design aesthetic.
If that’s what you’re selling, then it’s good.
If what you’re selling is good, competent, professional web design, then maybe not.
If you are dead keen on the 3′s look at either drawing the E as a reversed 3 or for a more symmetrical look, reverse the last 3
I would emphasize the “3″ aspect by choosing the three strongest attributes (Say WP Design/Layout/Concept? Or something?) and list them underneath with a little dot between each. It’d help tie up any confusion and give voice to what it is you do.
I agree with “aw”…try the E as a reversed 3; and as above, not really sure when you first look at it what it’s trying to say. But love the style and effect.
Sort of wanting some alternatives to consider. I agree with the others about the bookend ’3′s–they confuse me. I like 3s too (yay for 3!!), but this design makes them feel too much like essential information, when apparently they are not. wondering if there’s a way to keep them but deemphasize them…. ??
