Someone should have given me a print of this image when I graduated from college. "This is how life works," they should have said. "Get used to it." Would have made things so much simpler.
Even the numbers aren’t always enough. It can be impossibly difficult to fully capture reality. It keeps on insisting on being what it is. “Get used to it.”
I’ve spent my life wondering why no one would tell me how life really works. I suspect I’m not really listening. It’s still a major struggle for me.
Where was this picture taken? I’d love to get a poster made out of it as well.. it’s breathtaking.. in a “dropping down the first hill on a rollercoaster” way.

At my university it’s been made pretty clear you check an engineer’s numbers before you let them build things, otherwise, your bridge may blow away.

Ah, I didn’t recognize it from this shot. I’ve always seen it from the sides or from the POV of the roadway.
