I've also done hospice volunteer. I am keenly interested in elder issues, advocacy, death and dying, and sexuality. I never know the right word to use - elder? senior? aging? golden? I just love old people! And what IS old people? Anyone over 75? 80? So many of my friends are older. I'm good friends with an 89 yr old and a 92 yr old. I wish everyone would "adopt" a lonely homebound or nursing home person and visit them once a week. YES I did, I worked in nursing homes and hospitals for five years.
