The Erotica Prompt swag contest continues below. Leave an entry there by 12:01 am Monday morning.
Or just feel free to heckle my tentacle fetish. I won’t mind.
I’ve got some sweet little safer sex tins from Ready two Go (read the write-up about them here on Jane’s Guide) for my favorite entries. There might be some other prizes too, depending on how many entries I love and how many packaging envelopes I have left after the…er…incident.

I’d like to thank all of those who commented or sent email after the NodNightmares entries earlier this week. I do appreciate (very much!) the supportive comments and suggestions.
I thought that the name I chose was sufficiently descriptive, but perhaps not. The company withholding $1200.00 from me is EdenFantasys.
Considering the troubles they’ve given me, I cannot in good conscience encourage anyone to write, pursue affiliate deals, post advertising, or accept EdenFantasys’ products for review. I’m ashamed that I ever associated my name with their business, and I hate the fact that my writing still appears on the site.
I will keep you posted as my case against them progresses.

Several people have asked me for good alternatives for free products and affiliations. I have had wonderful results over the past couple years in working with Babeland.com. Their affiliate program is quite generous; it pays 20% on all sales generated from clicks through your banners or text links.
Also, they have an extremely easy-to-use free product review system. If you are interested in getting started with this program, feel free to send me an email at aagblog@gmail.com (include your site URL) and I’ll pass your name along. If you’d prefer, email Mae directly (mae@babeland.com). She tells me that Babeland is happy to meet new bloggers who are interested in trying and writing about their products.

Have a lovely autumn Saturday!

Thank YOU for sharing your stories and experiences with us! I think you can be sure they won’t be getting any more business from all of your very loyal readers…
Fingers crossed that this would end soon where you will not have to pour anymore time and energy into it.
AAG, I hope that all turns out well with this. I’m sorry you’ve been wronged by them and I hope you prevail. All you want is your back pay, and I don’t think that’s too much to ask at all.
And naturally, I’m (and all of your other readers, I trust) on your side.
Thanks for letting us know, I’ve emailed you.
I hope the situation is resolved to your satisfaction soon, aag.
Someone at this company obviously saw a tv special about ‘getting rich quick through blogging’ and bought the hype without a clue of what they were getting themselves into. They have been pissing off bloggers for a while now:

AAG,
You’re not a jerk because you named the company by name — other bloggers and reviewers and affiliates should know when these things happen so that we can look out for each other.
I should also point out that I love my relationship with VibeReview.com. It’s been fantastic and they’ve been generous and honest with me all along. I think that Babeland and VibeReview.com are both reputable and I would still do business with them, but as for EdenFantasys.com, I’m finished as a reviewer and you know I turned down a job with them. Whether or not I publicly discuss some of my own issues with EdenFantasys at this point depends 100% on whether or not they back up their commitment to double the Butterfly Temptress’ fundraising efforts for cancer treatment. If they turn their backs on a dying woman, I think it’s pretty clear that I’ll have some things to say about that.
Hang in there – you are on the side of right and it makes it awfully easy to stand strong in your shoes and say, “You have done something wrong and here is the proof”.
Big and tough!!
I wasn’t exactly EdenFantasy’s best customer before, but I certainly won’t be becoming one now. I’m still pissed at the way they handled this.
I am so sorry about your boss and the BS he’s putting you through. As someone who does consulting I know what an utter pain in the butt (and not the good, spanky kind or the nummy buttsex kind) it is when someone decides they aren’t going to pay you.
You weren’t that cryptic in the NodNightmares. I did figure out the company you were talking about, but I never quite figured out the connection between Eden and Nod.
Did you read the quote at the end of the first entry? When Cain was sent out of Eden, he went into Nod.
I’ll be disgusted if they don’t match the donations to Butterfly Temptress as they promised.
I love Babeland. I go to their store (in person) and love that they make it free to discuss anything.
And I mean ANYTHING.
d’oh! I did read the quote, I just was not putting 2 and 2 together very well.
Thanks and *fingers crossed* for you.
Thank you for sharing all of this, and it really sucks that you’re having to deal with it. And no, you’re not a jerk for naming them by name.
I was thinking of approaching them about an affiliate program and possible reviews right before hearing about all of this, and in fact do owe them one review for a toy received via a contest. Now I’ll be talking to Babeland or VibeReview instead (I say that like my mighty newbie writing skills are in high demand…;)).
Word of mouth (or in this case, blog) is the best or worst advertising a company can ever get. You can make ten people happy and they may never tell a soul. Make one person mad, and they’ll tell everyone they know.
I do appreciate the support.
If you’re angry about this too, it can’t hurt to write the company and let them know why you won’t be accepting their products for review or using their affiliate program.
Word of mouth is huge. I’m still baffled as to why they would subject themselves to such negative publicity over such a small amount for work righteously done.
