You Say You Want to Be Fleshbotted?

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. You could also get new content delivered directly to your inbox. Thanks for stopping by!

Starting on Sunday (though sometimes on Saturday, other times on Monday, and in very dire circumstance not until Tuesday), I begin trolling the internet in search of things to submit for Fleshbot’s Tuesday Sex Blog Roundup.

This is rather more difficult than you might imagine, though I should have been able to imagine it slightly better since Viviane and Chelsea Girl, Fleshbot alumni both, warned me that it was not a job for the faint of heart.

The problems in finding ‘bottalbe material are legion.  I can’t really submit something to Fleshbot from a blog that…

  1. Hasn’t been updated in weeks. If your blog is dead, essentially dead, or verging on deadness, you’re SOL.
  2. Consists of nothing but memes, quizzes, pictures, complaints about your ex and ruminations over the state of your aching back. Not sexy! So not sexy!
  3. Doesn’t use either standard grammar or consistently understandable non-standard grammar. If it’s unreadable to the average person, I can’t use it. If it’s one long paragraph unsullied by line break or indention, I can’t use it.
  4. Contains big steaming piles of misogyny (or misandry, for that matter, although I suppose misanthropy might in certain circumstances work), illegal sexual acts or too much poo.
  5. Is chock-full of advertising to the point that I have to wonder if the writing is secondary to the advertising.

Those are the negatives. So how, you are now wondering, do I actually find the pieces that end up ‘botted? I pay attention to…

  1. Suggestions that people send me. I love suggestions, especially if the sender-inner gives me something other than just a link. Send me the whole text, or at least give me some idea of what the link might be, especially if it’s to a newer blog. Put FLESHBOT SUGGESTION in the subject line, please?
  2. YouPorn’s Sex Blogs list. Bloody brilliant this is! I have no idea how ones goes about getting a blog listed here, but there is a contact email address on the front page. Couldn’t hurt to ask.
  3. Comments left on my recent posts. Comment intelligently here and I’ll have your name in mind when I start hunting for things to ‘bot. Or comment on other blogs. I see ‘em. I read ‘em. I follow the links.
  4. Long-standing blogs that consistently turn out engaging, erotic, readable pieces. I love these.
  5. Newer blogs that present sex in a unique light. I like to read things that describe real people in all their fucked-up glory, not picture-perfect encounters between soulless Barbies and Kens.

If you’ve avoided the things in the first list and done the things in the second list and I still haven’t included you in a round up, don’t despair! Probably your topic has yet to fit into the themes I’ve used.

Does this help? Any questions or suggestions? Put ‘em below!

My friend and collaborator Kiki makes some fascinating posts here.

Wow! Thank you for this incredible opportunity! I have just started out and I am hoping to build a buzz soon. I ask, why are there not more male sex bloggers? The answer should be easy to understand, but I guess I am so different than most men that I cannot help myself but understand why not.

Here is my suggestion: http://unadater.blogspot.com

here is a glimpse of the latest blog:

“My weekdays can be pretty hectic and that is why I am content with spending a Friday evening with my couch and a movie. However, in about an hour my Gemini mind begins to wander and I am quickly on Craigslist posting on casual encounters.”

Good luck in finding your blogs, and I hope you enjoy mine!

Kind regards,
UnaDater!

good luck with that new job - sounds like a tough one! lots of work.

you probably use an rss reader, but do you use google’s? might also be a good way to find interesting posts - for example, I share my favorite posts that come through, and you can set it up to see your friend’s favorites in your own reader.

i very rarely have time to update either of my two blogs. but check in every so often and maybe you’ll catch me when i’m on a roll!

They keep telling me that I need to use a reader…but I don’t. :(

Should I? You think?

:)

I’d love to be Fleshbotted, sounds delicious!

I’m just starting out too, my blog is honest, raw and sexy (I hope). And delves into my bi-sexual, swinging lifestyle.

Here’s a little taster “God, that is so hot, watching your husband buried inside another woman, filling her up, thrusting long and slow, gradually building up to quick, hard movements, causing her to rise up to meet him, her hands stretching out, reaching, grabbing, for something to hold onto as her orgasm gains memento.”

I don’t know how one gets on the YouPorn blog feed. I’ve written them, but they are really interested in first person writing.

You know this but readers should also check out the Sexoteric blog news feed:

You are shooting yourself in the foot by not using an RSS reader. I’ll help you set it up. It’s easy.

You say that like it’s a bad thing!

:)

please take a look. I think it’s worthy of fleshbot!

Ours has slowed down considerably in the last 6 months or so but we still try to get some real content up at least once a week. It sucks to see good blogs just taper off and stop.

Insatiable Submissive, who can be found off of erosblog’s blogroll, has been posting some good stuff lately.

Lex Konrad of Naked Loft Party, also on erosblog’s blogroll, took a hiatus it seems. Which is a shame for his readers. He had a series of essays from a weeklong trip he and his fiance took to a sex club/hotel in Mexico which were insightful. Those pieces aren’t time-sensitive, and several sections are perfect vignettes - so they might be worth excerpting.

Or not.

You said you deal in real-life people. What about the surreal? Something like the owner’s looney-tunes daughter catching me masturbating in my office (the source of my recent HNT’s). Would that be of interest? Probably not - too mundane.

I’ll try to come up with something better. Maybe there’s some old Penthouse letters I can scan.

Haaaaaaa

Oh me me me!
<–shameless hussy :D

You SO need a blog-reader, AAG. I use bloglines. I’d be lost without a blog reader!

Pardon my ignorance, but if I wanted to submit something to Fleshbot, how exactly do I do it?

You’d email me, if it’s for the sex blog roundup.

If it’s just something general for them, there’s an addy on their main page.

well, i did wish someone had noticed the first boy on boy post i ever wrote… would that i had known i should have suggested it.

that said, i don’t use an rss reader either.. and i’ve tried and i hate it. can’t comment…

I’ve been Fleshbotted…I think twice now? And it is awesome and makes me happy. :D Complete surprise both times.

Also, you mentioned YouPorn. They’ve got to have some kind of massive auto-porn-finding bots because I never contacted them, yet they’re *always* the first place I start getting hits from when a new story comes out. Not that I’m complaining or anything! It’s just been surprising to me, how after setting up a certain minimal amount of stuff for my blog, the Internets take over and run with it.

try this lovely lady - http://secondaryeducation.wordpress.com/

smart and sexy…and real.

AAG, thanks for posting how you find interesting blogs/posts. I’ve been fleshbotted before, and I was utterly thrilled, but I’m always up for a second go around.

Thanks for the scoop on You Porn’s blog site. I have a humongus blogroll of BDSM and other sex blogs on my site, but I’m always looking for new stuff to read.

http://subnouveau.blogspot.com

AAG, I have just started my blog, so be gentle with me if I don’t know what I am doing! All this “blogrolling” and stuff is new, and I have no clue how to find my audience. But I am learning.

My blog is about my journey of discovery, my emergence from a marriage that ended in disaster, about discovering myself and discovering that sex can be fun! It won’t be just about sex, but sex is a big part of it.

“Fleshbot” it if you like it, but for anyone who reads this, please give me feedback!

(Love your blog by the way, it was part of the inspiration to start mine!)

Like I said, i am new to this…

My URL is http://butterfly-east.blogspot.com/

Oooh, I didn’t know about the YouPorn blog list. More to read! :) I did email them to see about getting listed as well.

I don’t use a blog reader, either. I get behind if I do it via RSS. I’d rather just browse when I have time. But if you are doing it as a job, perhaps it’d be worth trying. I’m envious of that job, congratulations!

I have been ‘botted thrice, and I appreciate the recognition from peers, as well as the additional traffic. But the problem may be that my site is about relationships and not, strictly speaking, wankable erotica. So I don’t expect to be ‘botted again soon, though I certainly hope you’re dropping by for the occasional look.

I’d recommend Sex Geek, http://sexgeek.wordpress.com/feed/.

Life has been interesting lately, over at verticaldancer.wordpress.com, at least, my navel gazing self thinks its interesting. Unfortunately I am never the type to slip into a rut of predictability, so will probably never achieve the consistent week in week out posting that seems crucial to getting avid readership. On the other hand, I am less likely to post 27 aching back posts :)
On a more general note, lovely to see your light shining brightly aag.

Thank you! So this is how i got fleshbotted and i thank you once again.

hiscrystallinegirl.blogspot.com is reopened after a late summer put-it-to rest time. i’d be honored if you would have another look sometime.
